After Hollywood star Zendaya recreated a famous photoshoot featuring
Venus Williams and younger sister
Serena Williams, the older sister expressed her approval at the tribute.
The Williams sister were featured on the cover of Vogue Magazine in 1998, where they donned elegant black and white striped, full-skirted gowns. Zendaya, who is currently promoting her new tennis-centric movie "Challengers", recreated this iconic look as a tribute to the tennis legends.
Venus expresses approval at precise recreation
In an Instagram post by Zendaya's stylist, the actress is seen seated on a sofa with a white beaded braids hairstyle. This hairdo was in fact popularized by the Williams sisters during their early years on tour.
"An ode to the GREATS @venuswilliams @serenawilliams We thank you for all you have done!" the caption read.
Zendaya would later share the image on her personal Instagram page, stating how much inspiration she drew from the legendary sisters. Williams herself would respond, sharing the picture on her Instagram stories.
"My heart melted on this one. Iconic," read the caption.
