Novak Djokovic wins 2023 Adelaide International over Korda

It wasn't perfect and it wasn't as good as he can play but Novak Djokovic ultimately did just enough to defeat Sebastian Korda in three sets to win his first trophy of 2023.

It's a happy return to Australia for Djokovic as he finishes the first event he played down under with a trophy. He faced a very inspired Sebastian Korda who showed brilliance in this match as well as some other stuff. Korda played and serve really well but Djokovic proved the ultimate problem-solver by beating Korda in three sets.

The first set was an interesting one as Korda worked himself to a great situation being up 5-4 and 40-0. He had three set points but missed badly a couple of times to choke that lead away. Ultimately we ended up in a tiebreak with Korda up 5-2 but he choked it away again. He did pull out a win 8-6 in the end leaving Djokovic very upset.

The second set was a rather competitive one where Djokovic had break points and Korda had a match point. The tiebreak served Djokovic better this time around as he took it 7-3. Djokovic looked very sharp in the third set as Korda started to struggle more and more and he lost it in the end 4-6.
