"Opelka shot me down" - Venus Williams speaks on dating rumors

Although Venus Williams tends to keep her private life away from the spotlight, there had been some speculation that that the American was dating compatriot Reilly Opelka.

The pair were frequently seen together for much of the 2021 season, leading many fans to believe they were dating. However, Williams quickly put an end to those rumors this week during a Q&A session with fans on Instagram.

"Are you and Reilly dating?,” a follower asked the seven-time singles Grand Slam champion.

"No @ReillyOpelka shot me down," responded Williams.

That put an end to any dating rumors, although Williams and Opelka do seem to enjoy spending time with each other. They were spotted together last week at Art Basel in Miami, where Opelka posted a photo of them together alongside popular music artist Kygo at the event. The ATP World No.26 also attended the premier of the King Richard movie in Los Angeles, where he walked the red carpet and spent time with with the former WTA World No.1.

Although the two might not be dating, their friendship continues to grow and the fans love to see it.
