It was business as usual for Paula Badosa on Wednesday at the Australian Open, as the Spaniard put on a splendid performance to book her spot in the third round.
Badosa breezed past Italian qualifier Martina Trevisan 6-0 6-3 in her second round match, delighting fans with her superb play on Rod Laver Arena. The eighth seed was impressive on serve, winning 16 of 20 points behind her first serve. Furthermore, Badosa never faced a break point, while converting five of her 13 break point opportunities.
After dominating the first set, the World No.6 appeared to tighten up in the second, allowing Trevisan back in the game. However, Badosa would go on to break her opponent in the fifth game, before obtaining a second break that saw her close out the match in 71 minutes.
The Indian Wells champion faces the winner between compatriot Sara Sorribes Tormo and Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk in the third round.
