Emma Raducanu won't be playing for Great Britain in their Billie Jean King Cup qualifiers next month as she wants to rest her injured wrist following the Sunshine double.
Raducanu opted to play in the Indian Wells Masters despite dealing with a wrist injury that left her in pain for much of the days leading up to the event. She played well gaining confidence in the process with a Miami Open participating likely due to it. The Brit however will rest her wrist after that event which means she'll miss next month's Billie Jean King Cup tie in Coventry.
Raducanu plans to make her return to tennis at the Stuttgart event which is sponsored by one of her main sponsors - Porsche. She played there last year as well and interestingly, that event starts only two days after the Billie Jean King Cup tie. Technically speaking, if she's able to play in that event she's most likely able to play in the Billie Jean King Cup tie as well.
Raducanu was not part of the team selected by Team Captain Anne Keothavong and she didn't offer any comment about being left off the team. Keothavong didn't comment on Raducanu's absence either.
