Sabine Lisicki has been attempting a comeback to tennis yet it's not going so well as she's been unable to make much noise even in ITF events.
She was playing in Mexico City this week and won a couple of matches but it wasn't anything noteworthy from the former Wimbledon finalist. She was taking on Cengiz and for a brief moment, she was doing well in the match. Lisicki actually had her massive forehand firing early on as she took a 3-0 lead but it all fell apart not long after that.
The serve wasn't going as well as she had hoped and there were far too many errors from the German. 6-4 was the score in the first set after Cengiz managed a massive comeback. The second set was even weaker from the German player as she lost it 6-2 kind of giving up towards the of the match.
A solid effort overall but the level was not good enough. She won less than half of her service games taking 4 out of 5. She had nine aces but also 18 double faults which is two double faults per service game as she had nine in total. Just not good enough for the former player who was ranked 12 at the peak but outside of the top 300 right now.
