Serena Williams joins elite company in winning Jackie Robinson Sports Award

Serena Williams is the latest person that is going to be awarded the Jackie Robinson Sports Award joining an elite company of Steph Curry, LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and more.

The ceremony will be held in Pasadena California where Williams will be given the award. The Jacki Robinson Award is given the persons in sports for their achievements in sports as well as their impact outside of their sport in the areas of social justice, civil rights and community involvement. The NAACP president said:

“Serena Williams is the quintessential example of Black excellence. From her record-breaking wins on the tennis court to her business acumen to her philanthropic endeavors, she has set the bar for athletes everywhere. We are proud to honor and celebrate her with this year’s Jackie Robinson Sports Award.”
