Everybody that is familiar with tennis knows who Emma Raducanu is and what she has done in the past several months. The first qualifier to ever win a grand slam, the first teenage winner in the past couple of years, and winning the event without dropping a single set are all things that are quite hard to comprehend when put together in a sentence.
Yet, the young Brit was able to do all of that in just her 2nd grand slam appearance. Since then, her life completely changed as she saw herself become a huge name in the world of tennis. Tomas Berdych is well aware of that and that is why he thinks she is the face of a new generation of young tennis players breaking out slowly.
He said:
"She's a young face of the new generation. There was a generation of Serena and Venus Williams where they won multiple Slams and then it was only recently we've seen many different Grand Slam winners. Raducanu is fresh, so I think the way she played in New York was incredible. She managed to keep herself focused, so why not? She has a chance of winning many titles. It would be great for women's tennis."
