"She's just such a legend" - Raducanu on Williams after their Cincinnati match

Emma Raducanu dealt with Serena Williams easily on the court but the Brit was just in awe of the legendary player.

While the final score might suggest that Raducanu did not show any respect to Serena Williams on the court she emulated what the American legend stands for. Excellent tennis and an incredible hunger for victory. Both were on full display from the start as the Brit raced to a 6-4 6-0 win over Williams in what will probably be their only match.

Despite looking very calm on the court Raducanu was quite tense focusing solely on the match and the next point:

"I think from the beginning to the end, I maybe looked calm, but I just knew how important every single point was, because you let up a little bit and she's going to be all over you. She's just such a legend."

Emma further higlighted what a true honour it was for her to share the court with Williams:

"I think we all need to just honour Serena and her amazing career. I'm so grateful for the experience of being able to play her and for our careers to cross over. Everything that she's achieved is so inspirational and it was a true honour to share the court with her."

She also added:

"I think it's important to really cherish the wins, because I think that if anything, this year has taught me that the wins don't come by easily. No matter what win that is, it means a lot to any athlete, and I definitely am going to take it in, be really proud of myself."
