Wow! @iga_swiatek is on a mission… She is dominating women’s tennis; fourth tournament win in a row…pulling away from the pack of incredible talent…👏👏👏 @WTA
Former 18-time Grand Slam Chris Evert was absolutely impressed by the level of tennis Iga Swiatek showed in the Stuttgart final versus Aryna Sabalenka.
The Polish player raced to an easy 6-2 6-2 win over last year's finalist with the winner never in doubt. Sabalenka looked very strong in the previous days so the ease of the wind kind of surprised many despite the onslaught Swiatek had in the past two months.
Swiatek hasn't lost a match since February as she has claimed victories in Doha, Indian Wells, Miami, and now Stuttgart. The transition from hard to clay wasn't a problem for Swiatek either with her winning streak now at 23 matches.
After the match, Evert took to Twitter to praise her:
"Wow! @iga_swiatek is on a mission… She is dominating women’s tennis; fourth tournament win in a row…pulling away from the pack of incredible talent…@WTA"
She's not the only pundit who praised her as Patrick McEnroe recently said how nobody is capable of stopping her at the French Open which is a goal of her. She won the event in 2020.
