Svitolina and Sloane Stephens among players to congratulate Garbine Muguruza on engagement

Garbine Muguurza recently announced in an interview that she got engaged and now she posted a photo to mark the occasion getting showered with a lot of love in the comments.

Muguruza has been currently away from the sport after going on a break from tennis in January. She started her year in Australia but after a string of bad performances and an early exit in Lyon, the Spaniard announced that she was going to go on a hiatus for a while. She provided an update a few weeks later admitting that she is enjoying her time away from the sport and that she will extend it through the summer.

The move meant that she was going to miss both Roland Garros and Wimbledon, two pretty important events for her. During that time away she went to Spain and spent time with family and friends along with her boyfriend. That boyfriend is now her fiance as they became engaged recently with a wedding planned for next year.

To mark her engagement, Mugurza posted a photo with her fiance and many players congratulated her in the comments. Elina Svitolina wrote 'Congrats guys. So happy for your'. Sloane Stephens commented 'Congratulations' as well. Others who commented on the post include her former coach Conchita Martinez, Johanna Konta, Dominika Cibulkova and Carla Suarez Navarro.
