Qiang Wang of China takes on Poland's Katarzyna Kawa, the third seed defeated compatriot Xinyu Han 6-1 6-1 in her first round match whereas Kawa overcame India's Ankita Raina 3-6 6-0 6-1 to advance to the second round.
Fourth seeded Saisai Zheng faces Chinese Taipei's En-Shuo Liang. Zheng defeated Serbian Natalija Kostic 7-6(6) 6-0 in the first round, while Liang upset China's Xinyu Wang 6-3 6-0.
Poland's Magda Linette faces another Ukrainian in Kateryna Bondarenko. Although Linette leads 2-0 in career meetings, each match has gone the distance with Bondarenko falling a game shy in their last match in Tianjin in 2017.
Seventh seed Lin Zhu of China faces unseeded Swiss Leonie Kung. At 19, Kung is one of the youngest players on tour and the 2018 Wimbledon Girls' Singles finalist, losing to Poland's Iga Swiatek.
Japan's Nao Hibino takes on Thailand's Peangtarn Plipuech, with Plipuech qualifying as a lucky loser. The home favorite will hope to avenge her loss to Hibino, as the two's only meeting occurred in Suzhou ITF W100 event in 2018. Hibino won that encounter 7-6(1) 6-4.
