Swiatek in awe at 2022 season so far after thrilling win over Zheng Qinwen: “I thought I'm going to be at my peak when I'm 24, 25”

Iga Swiatek had another thrilling victory taking out Qinwen Zheng in three sets and it continued an amazing season for her.

Getting to such a high level fairly early in her career is not something she expected but it's a testament to the continuous work she put in, on top of the talent that was already there. The win over Zheng was her 61st win of the season and it puts her in an elite company of players with legendary careers. To her, it's still unthinkable:

"It's pretty amazing. I wasn't expecting to have this kind of season this year. I thought, maybe, I'm going to be at my peak when I'm 24, 25, and have that experience, maybe results like that are going to come."

Enjoying such a season is a dream come true for Swiatek and it makes her proud of everything she and her team did to get here:

"I'm pretty happy that I am able to give my all right now and to play well and to be in that place. As I said in Ostrava, my dreams are coming true. So I'm pretty proud of myself and the team that they are preparing me and I'm able to play good to the end of the season."
