Iga Swiatek is happy to see the Australian Open Dunlop balls being used in Dubai as opposed to using the US Open balls which would have meant a sudden switch.
Swiatek is a fan of continuity in tennis and that's why she welcomed the change to the Dunlop balls in Dubai. Those were the one's players used in Australia and lot of players have gotten used to them which makes this switch seamless. It wasn't like that last year when the event used different balls making it hard to adjust on the fly. Iga is happy about it:
"I'm pretty happy that this year finally we have the same balls, Australian Open Dunlop, because every year we had to adjust and change the ball every week, which was pretty stupid for me. Right now it makes sense."
Asked to compare the conditions to last year Swiatek admitted that she's unsure as she didn't play on the courts yet:
"Usually it's much drier. I remember last year the courts were very fast. Truth to be told, I didn't play any practice yet, so I don't know. I think looking at weather conditions, the weather is more similar to Doha this year. We'll see. I don't know about the courts."
