Former British No. 1 Tim Henman shared his belief that Emma Raducanu can return to the top of the tennis world by 2025. Speaking to Sky Sports, Henman highlighted her potential for further growth following a promising comeback season.

The 2021 US Open champion overcame a lengthy absence last year and returned to the tour with the goal of climbing back up the rankings. Despite limited tournament appearances, Raducanu made an impressive jump from outside the top 300 to World No. 57.

Raducanu’s comeback impresses Henman

With her current ranking, Raducanu can enter Grand Slam tournaments and most WTA 1000 events without needing to play in qualifying rounds. Additionally, her lack of significant points to defend during certain periods could further aid her climb up the rankings.

Henman stressed that staying healthy is crucial for Raducanu to maintain her momentum. “I think one of her challenges has been staying injury-free. Similarly with Jack [Draper], there were a few injuries in 2024. For Raducanu, when she was on the court, she played very well and finished around 60 in the world," he said.

"If she can increase her volume of tennis and play in more big tournaments, there’s absolutely no doubt her ranking will improve, and she’ll be competing for the biggest and best titles,” Henman added.

The former World No. 4 also suggested Raducanu could end the season inside the 20 best players in the world. “Top 20, I think. She’s had a fantastic year. She’s built up the physical resilience to compete more. She played a full schedule and achieved great results,” he remarked. "I still think she can play better and bring more consistency to her game. Top 20 is the obvious target for her,” Henman concluded.
