Former World No.4
Bianca Andreescu worked hard to reach the second round of the
Thailand Open Hua Hin on Tuesday, but was quick to shift her attention to more culinary matters following her victory.
After her straight sets win over Britain's
Harriet Dart, Andreescu appeared relieved as she gave her post-match interview. However, the Canadian brightened up when asked about her love for Thai cuisine. She revealed she had prepared a pineapple-fried rice with shrimp meal, although she humorously was unable to properly pronounce the name of the local dish.
The 22-year old has been struggling to regain her form following a battle with Covid and injuries for the bulk of the 2022 season. Upon making her return in Adelaide this year, Andreescu fell in the second round of the Australian Open to Spaniard Cristina Bucsa.
