Iga Swiatek delivered two crucial points for Poland to lift her nation past Romania in the Billie Jean King Cup.
Those were the first official matches she played as the world number one and she played every bit like one. In the first match, she only dropped two games while in the second she didn't drop a single one recording her 2nd career double bagel win. In that 2nd match, she even showed off some tricks for the native fans which they enjoyed.

- I heartily disagree with Stubbs here. I mean c'mon! The whole idea of giving out wildcards is to give new & up-coming players a chance at getting as much circuit match-practice under their belts as possible. And this is a HUGE must and opportunity for these new kids on the block. Why curtail opportunities for these newbies in favour of stalwart monopoly?? That just isn't fair. At least give these lesser known players a chance to become more familiar at playing in bigger tournaments & give them also a chance of getting the crowds behind these underdogs.
