Canadian tennis star Leylah Fernandez received a surprise guest during her one of her matches, as she found out a certain football superstar was in attendance.

The 2021 US Open finalist was being interviewed following a victory, and stopped to acknowledge Thierry Henry, retired French footballer, applauding in the stands. Unaware that the French icon was in attendance, Fernandez paused her interview to point out the Arsenal icon, before thanking him for attending her match.

Fernandez has struggled for most of the 2023 season, falling in the early stages of most events she has entered. The 20-year old will hope to regain some momentum at the upcoming Roland Garros tournament, which begins on May 28.
