Incredibly disappointed by the decision made today. The sad part is this will not stop abortions from happening… this will only increase illegal and unsafe abortions. Today is a very sad day for our country and I cannot believe once again history is repeating itself.
Coco Gauff took a public stance against a US Supreme Court decision regarding the abortion laws in the United States of America.
She wrote:
"Incredibly disappointed by the decision made today. The sad part is this will not stop abortions from happening… this will only increase illegal and unsafe abortions. Today is a very sad day for our country and I cannot believe once again history is repeating itself."
Gauff was further asked about it at Wimbledon and she echoed the same things:
"Yeah I put a tweet out. I'm obviously disappointed by the decision made. I feel bad for future women and women now but I also feel bad for those that protested so many years ago and now to see that decision be reversed. History is repeating itself and I almost feel like we're going backwards."
Gauff further said that she's worried this might set precedent for reversing other decision that people worked hard for:
"I just want to encourage everyon to use their voice because we can definely make a change."
