Former world number one Serena Williams flexed her muscles in a post on Instagram. The 42-year-old is often regarded as one of the greatest players in the history of women’s tennis in the singles category, having won as many as 23 Grand Slam titles in her career.
One of the reasons for Williams success on the court over the years has been her fitness where she was just too strong for her opponents. While she might have retired from the sport more than 12 months ago, her love for fitness is pretty much there, and it was evident when a post appeared on Instagram where she flexed her muscles before going to the Met Gala. "When the arms and beauty are both a flex. Get ready with @serenawilliams to attend the 2024 Met Gala," was the caption of the picture posted.
Serena had a fabulous career and won everything that was there to be won. Apart from winning 23 Grand Slams in the singles category, the Michigan-born star also won four Olympic gold medals for her country. One of those medals came in the singles category, which was during the 2012 event when she defeated the former world number one Russia’s Maria Sharapova in the final in straight sets with a score of 6-0, 6-1. Besides that, she also won three gold medals in the doubles category while playing with her sister in 2000, 2008 and 2012.
