Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina might play San Diego qualifiers

Elena Rybakina won Wimbledon but she was disappointed about not getting any points and the consequences are quite clear.

Instead of being ranked inside the top 10, she finds herself ranked lower and now faces the prospect of playing qualifiers at a stacked event in San Diego. The event will be played just ahead of the WTA Finals so it attracted a very strong entry list of players which might force Rybakina to play the qualifiers.

It's a bizarre situation considering that she's a reigning grand slam champion, Wimbledon actually, which makes the whole points fiasco even worse. As of now, seven of the top 10 players in the world are slated to play at the event. Check out the entry below.
