The WTA revealed the winners of the annual WTA Players Awards on Tuesday, with several players recognized by members of the international media for their performance during the 2020 season.
Sofia Kenin, winner of the Australian Open and runner-up at Roland Garros, was voted as the WTA Player of the Year. The American experienced a meteoric rise after claiming her maiden Grand Slam title in January, and maintained a level that saw her WTA Ranking remain in the Top 10 during the 2020 season.

Iga Swiatek, was awarded the Most Improved Player of the Year Award. The Polish star clinched her first Major title in Paris, winning the title as an unseeded player and without the loss of a set.
Other categories include Comeback Player of the year, which went to the resurgent
Victoria Azarenka. The Belarusian reached her fifth career Grand Slam final at the US Open, and finished the year inside the Top 20 for the first time since March 2017.
