The draw
for the
Zhengzhou Open, the final WTA 500 event of the 2023 season, has been
confirmed, and the
prize money and points breakdown is set.
The
tournament will take place between October 9-15. Elena Rybakina, Marketa
Vondrousova, Ons Jabeur, and Karolina Muchova will be the top seeds in
Zhengzhou, China.
With only
three days left before the tournament begins, the main draw will feature 12
players from the top 20 in the world rankings in the last major event before
the WTA Finals and Elite Trophy, which will close out the season.
Many of the
players will aim to earn valuable points to start the 2024 season on a strong
note, and they will also compete for significant prizes before the year-end
break.
They will
get a welcome boost for winning the title, with the winner taking home $120,150.
The finalist takes home $74,161. The semi-finalists claim $43,322 and this
breakdown goes all the way down to losing in the first round which claims
$8,310.
Points wise,
it is 470 for the winner. 305 for the runner-up. Semi-Finalists receive 185 and
the first-round losers all the way down get one point.
