"You got to be who you are Meghan" - Serena Williams denies friendship with Meghan Markle

Serena Williams has denied being a friend with Meghan Markle after the former actress listed her as one of her friends in an interview.

Somewhat of an odd situation happened to Serena Williams when she was listed by Meghan Markle as a friend in an interview. Markle, a former actress, who is now a member of the British Royal Family spoke to Sam Kashner for Vanity Fair where she made an observation that the reporter had to clear before writing the article.

Markle stepped down as a senior member of the Royal Family together with her husband Prince Harry but controversy seems to follow her wherever she goes. Kashner reached out the Serena Williams to confirm the friendship but was corrected by Williams saying the two were merely acquaintances.

Serena also added the comment:

"You’ve got to be who you are, Meghan. You can’t hide."
