The 2021 Argentina Open continues the South American clay season with a strong field of play and an overall financial commitment of over 400.000 $.
The 2021 Argentina Open will run from the first till the 7th of March with an overall financial commitment of 411.940 dollars. It is one of the clay season events part of the early year South American tour and it will feature many of the best clay players in the world. It will be the 24th edition of the event in Buenos Aires with the defending champion being Casper Ruud.
The Norwegian won't be attending this year's event and he will not be able to defend his title. The Argentinian crowd will see a new champion crowned with the majority of them hoping for a native champion. Diego Schwartzman as the first seed will be eyeing that trophy but he will face stiff competition from Christian Garin and Benoit Paire. Several other notable players that will attend the event are Miomir Kecmanovic, Albert Ramos, Pablo Andujar, and Laslo Djere.
The champion of the 2021 Argentina Open will take $24,400 and 250 points to the ATP Rankings while the runner-up will be awarded $18,030 and 150 points. Also, players exiting in earlier rounds will share a good part of the prize money and points as many lower-ranked clay specialists will play in Buenos Aires.
