2021 Estoril Open Entry list with Schwartzman, Monfils, Carreno Busta

Portugal Open joined the ATP Tour action in 1990, staged at the Estadio Nacional do Jamor in Oeiras until 2014 when it lost the license due to financial struggles.

Sergi Bruguera, Carlos Costa, Thomas Muster, Alex Corretja, Carlos Moya, Juan Carlos Ferrero, David Nalbandian, Nikolay Davydenko, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Juan Martin del Potro and Stan Wawrinka all won the title here in the past, and the organizers found the way to keep this lovely event alive, moving to the Clube de Tenis do Estoril in Cascais in 2015 where it found the new home.

In 2019, the young gun Stefanos Tsitsipas defeated Pablo Cuevas to lift the trophy, and the event couldn't be held in 2020 due to the coronavirus. Estoril is back in action between April 26 - May 2, gathering six top-30 players led by world no. 9 Diego Schwartzman.

Gael Monfils, Pablo Carreno Busta and Cristian Garin complete the top-20 line-up, with many solid players hoping to spoil their party and fight for the trophy. Ugo Humbert, Benoit Paire, Alexander Bublik and Marin Cilic are among those, alongside Albert Ramos-Vinolas and a former champion Richard Gasquet.

In that 2019 final, Tsitsipas lifted the third ATP trophy and the first on clay. Tsitsipas won the opening set in under 40 minutes and had to work harder in set number two, as Cuevas raised his level to reach a tie break that the Greek won 7-4 to seal the deal.
