World no. 1
Novak Djokovic hasn't played since the Australian Open in February, taking time to recover from an injury and preparing for the clay swing at home in Monte Carlo.
Novak has trained with numerous rivals in the last ten days, including the world's leading junior Holger Rune, who asked world no. 1 if they can have a practice session, something Novak was more than ready to accept.
Alongside the upcoming stars, Djokovic took some time to practice with his six-year-old son Stefan, who gave his best to overpower his father and show his skills at the famous Monte Carlo venue.
Novak is yet to lose a match in 2021, winning both group-stage encounters at the ATP Cup and claiming his 18th Major crown at the Australian Open. Djokovic injured his abdominal muscle against Taylor Fritz in the third round and had to work hard in three straight matches before finding the form in the semis and the final to lift the ninth Melbourne Park crown.
After that, Djokovic decided to skip Dubai and Miami, stay in Europe, and start his preparations for the upcoming clay swing. The Serb will compete in Monte Carlo before heading to his country for the Serbia Open, the first edition since 2012.
