Barty Wimbledon 2021
Today is the first of two finals at the 2021 Wimbledon with Ashleigh Barty set to take on Karolina Pliskova.
The 2021 Wimbledon Ladies final will give us a new Wimbledon champion as neither Barty nor Pliskova has ever won it. Pliskova never won a Grand Slam title before and this is only her 2nd final. For Barty, it's her 2nd final as well but she won a Grand Slam before unlike Pliskova who lost her first final.
Both of these players displayed dominant tennis so far which is the reason why they are in the final. Barty struggled a bit more in the earlier rounds yet when it mattered the most she was able to produce her best tennis. Pliskova dominated her way towards the final and only encountered some issues against Sabalenka.
Both of them are serving well and the player that consistently serves better in the final will have a big advantage. For Barty, the experience of winning a Grand Slam should be as she has proven to be mentally tougher than Pliskova who tends to fall apart far too often.
They played 7 times so far and Barty leads the H2H 5-2 with the last four matches won by Barty, one of which was this year on clay. The Australian will be favoured to win it, but Pliskova could be in for a big surprise.
