The 2022 Argentina Open is an ATP 250 event played on clay with a solid field and an overall financial commitment of $686,700.
The event will run from February 7th till February 13th and it will feature Casper Ruud as the top seed. The Norwegian is one of the premium clay performers on the tour and he will be one of the main candidates to leave Buenos Aires with the trophy. The whole idea of giving out wildcards is to give new & up-coming players a chance at getting as much circuit match-practice under their belts as possible. And this is a HUGE must and opportunity for these new kids on the block. Why curtail opportunities for these newbies in favour of stalwart monopoly?? That just isn't fair. At least give these lesser known players a chance to become more familiar at playing in bigger tournaments & give them also a chance of getting the crowds behind these underdogs.
