The Spaniard ultimately made the trip down under after leaving fans worried with some vague wording after the Mubadala World Tennis Championship. A brief encounter with COVID-19 also went by quickly which allowed Nadal to travel to Australia and take part in this event. He won't be the only good player there as players like Dimitrov, Opelka, Harris, and others will also play.
Most of the bigger names will be busy with the ATP Cup so this will be a good chance for Nadal to get a deep run in before the main event. As an ATP 250 event, the prize money is not large by any means but it's still decent. The winner will get $87,370 while the losing player in the final will receive $48,365. Semifinalist will not go empty-handed as well with $27,220 reserved for each of them.
