After last year's successful edition, the Serbia Open returns in 2022 with another strong field headlined by Novak Djokovic and Andrey Rublev.
The Serbian took part in the event last year however he saw himself beaten in the semifinals by Aslan Karatsev. The Russian failed to win the trophy as Matteo Berrettini proved better lifting the trophy. The Italian won't be back to defend his trophy though and we will crown a new champion in the final week of April.
The field is headlined by Djokovic who once again returns to the Serbian capital to delight some native fans. Besides Djokovic, we will also see Andrey Rublev who did not play last week. Aslan Karatasev will be back as well Gael Monfils. Other top players include Khachanov, Garin, Fognini and Dominic Thiem who has been forgotten a bit in these past months.

- Having spent weeks and weeks through the years on tour, I can say with confidence that Conchita was (is) one of the very few who realize the surprising level of maturity (and sometimes lack of) which Mirra seems to have developed in such a demanding adult world of Pro-Tennis. While at the same time reminding herself (Conchita, that is) that Mirra is still young and developing mentally and physically. The general public may forget at times, or not at all realize, these modern era young athletes do not have a 'normal' Youth. It's a major sacrifice, among countless sacrifices, these athletes must make.
