The 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters will feature Holger Rune and Andrey Rublev battling it out for what could be the Russian's first and the Danish player's second ATP 1000 trophy.
The "Ru-bowl" between Rublev and Rune will be played on Sunday and it's going to be their 3rd match overall. They played two times so far with each player winning one of the matches. Last year in Paris we saw Rune beat Rublev and that was the first ATP 1000 title run from Rune as he defeated Djokovic in the final.
The second one happened this year at the Australian Open and it was a dramatic 5-setter with Rune winning 11-9 in the final set decider. Rune was angry after that match and best believe he will try to win this one and get his revenge. Both are fine clay players with Rune basically calling it his favourite surface.
I would not say Rublev would call it his favourite but he can play well on it and Monte-Carlo has been particularly good to him. It's tricky to call who will win but it's going to be interesting either way. Rublev can attack like the best and Rune is really good at switching rhythm which could give Rublev some trouble.
Either way don't miss it on Sunday and if you do we'll have a report for you.
