Tennis coach
Patrick Mouratoglou doesn't think Sinner really compares to Alcaraz whose rise to tennis was spectacular simply in the way he did it.
Most of the tennis community knew about Sinner for longer than Alcaraz because the Italian had shown promise for a long time. His rise has been one with a decent pace but wasn't as dramatic as that of Alcaraz who basically showed up and showed promise in 2021 to take over the Tour for a while in 2022.
The Spaniard came out with no fear playing superb tennis and beating players much more experienced than him. It simply doesn't compare to the way Sinner came up:
“He’s not a guy like Carlos Alcaraz who arrives at 19, is scared of nobody, & beats everyone. He’s not that type of player.. but he has an incredible game. He’s gonna be there. He’s gonna win Grand Slams & win Masters 1000s. I don’t doubt it”
However as you can see above, Mouratoglou does think Sinner will be a grand slam champion.
