Nick Kyrgios enjoyed two superb weeks in London playing at
Wimbledon and reaching the final but just like many before him, he failed against Djokovic.
It was all smiles for Nick Kyrgios while shaking the hand of Novak Djokovic at the net but moments later Kyrgios was spotted looking very dejected on his stool. The Australian played in his maiden grand slam final but similar to many before him, he was unable to overcome one-third of the big three. It was a great result for Kyrgios overall but not winning the trophy left him gutted.
As much as he tried to play it cool during the ceremony it was obvious how disappointed he was. Clearly, it's Wimbledon. Speaking during the trophy ceremony, Kyrgios said:
"I thought I played well. First of all, I want to congratulate Novak and your team of course. You've won this championship I don't even know how many times now. To the ball kids. I know me and you have a tough relationship so thank you fur putting up with me. And the crowd. It's been an amazing couple of weeks for me personally."
He was then asked about playing in his maiden grand slam final and whether this experience made him hungry for more. True to his style he said:
"Absolutely not. I'm not going to lie. Me and my team are exhausted and I'm pretty happy about this result, probably the best in my career. Maybe one day I'll be back here but I'm not sure about that one."
