Brad Gilbert, former coach of tennis great Andre Agassi, is of the opinion that Spanish star Carlos Alcaraz has a serve routine similar to that of Agassi, and believes that aspect of their game is often overlooked.
After a photo began circulating of Alcaraz during his service motion, Gilbert responded to the picture by stating he saw similar shades of Agassi's serve in Alcaraz's. Furthermore, he added Agassi's kick serve was difficult to read due to his ability to put the ball wide on both wings.
"Most underrated part of AA @AndreAgassi game was his serv, especially the kick serve and ability to serve wide in both courts at his size, Escape from Alcaraz very similar with size and his kick is a Mule kick," Gilbert tweeted.
The American also lauded Alcaraz's hang time during his service motion, stating it was indeed a sight to behold.
"Crazy the height he gets there, maybe 18 inches off the ground," he added. "Hang time on serv simply off the charts thing of beauty."
