It's a day in which two Aussie aces were attempting to reach the Last 16 but one is through already at Wimbledon without even playing. Alex de Minaur has received a walkover in his third round match today at SW19.
The ninth seed was scheduled to play French qualifier Lucas Pouille today. However the former World No.10 who looked to be back to some semblance of his best after qualifying through is unable to take to the court.
This sees De Minaur progress to the fourth round at the All England Lawn and Tennis Club for a second time matching his career best run in 2022. The 25-year-old's fourth round opponent will be decided later today.
He will face off against Arthur Fils or Roman Safiullin with a big chance for either of the players that move through to the latter stages. Alexei Popyrin will also have a big chance facing off against Novak Djokovic later on centre court as he looks to join him in the latter stages at SW19.
But of course that would be a seismic shock for Popyrin to win through who for instance was the last player to be defeated by Andy Murray in singles before his retirement.
