An exhibition event was held in France consisting of several native French players such as Tsonga and Pouille with
Alex De Minaur ending up the winner.
Tennis is slowly starting to be played again with more and more players working on their conditioning ahead of the 2022 season. One such event was the Open de Tennis de Bourg-de-Péage held in the South of France. Several notable tennis players took part in the exhibition but it was Alex de Minaur who ended up winning it. The Australian will soon travel to his home country to prepare for the Australian Summer but he demonstrated good form ahead of it.
In the semifinal, he faced
Lucas Pouille a former US open quarterfinalist who is slowly making his way back to top tennis. In the final, he took down another Frenchman in
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga who has not played a lot lately considering his career is marching towards its conclusion. There was a woman's event as well with Katie Boulter taking down Alize Lim in the final.
Boulter and De Minaur will presumably travel together to Australia considering they are a romantic couple outside of the courts.
