Germany’s tennis star
Alexander Zverev and America’s Frances
Tiafoe were embroiled in a hilarious exchange about the former’s hairstyle.
Both players are coming on the back of a decent time on the
court where they produced some impressive performances. The two were involved
in a hilarious exchange on the social media platform Instagram after Zverev posted
a picture with the caption: "The new season starts in the off-season."
In response, the Hyattsville-born wrote, “Get in the
barber's chair.” The Humburg-born then jokingly responded by stating “Bro
stop hating. I know you jealous."
Zverev won two ATP titles in 2023. His first victory came in
Hamburg back in July where he defeated Serbia’s Laslo Djere in the final with a
score of 7-5, 6-3. His second title was the Chengdu Open in September where he
defeated Russia’s Roman Safiullin with a score of 6-7, 7-6, 6-3.
Other than that, the current world number seven participated
in all four Grand Slams last season where his most impressive outing came
at the French Open as he was knocked out after losing the semifinal to Norway’s
Casper Ruud with a score of 6-3, 6-4, 6-0.
On the other hand, Tiafoe also won two ATP titles in 2023.
His first title came in Houston in April where he defeated Tomas Martin
Etcheverry of Argentina with a score of 7-6, 7-6. The world number 16 then went
on to win the Boss Open in Stuttgart in June after defeating Germany’s Jan-Lennard
Struff in the final with a score of 4-6, 7-6, 7-6.
