Alexander Zverev was able to keep it simple against
Radu Albot defeating him 6-3 6-4 6-4 in Melbourne to move on.
A very solid effort by Alexander Zverev allowed the German to keep things rather simple against Radu Albot. The Moldovan is a capable tennis player whose serve can create issues on courts such as these where it's a powerful weapon to have. Zverev opened the match with an early break but that did not discourage Albot from playing his game.
Zverev was able to keep his serve and he won the first set with 6-3. More or less a similar thing happened in the second set with Zverev once again taking his chance after which he mainly focused on keeping his serve. He once again served a couple of double faults but the problem was not as visible as in the previous rounds.
The 2nd set was won with 6-4 and the same score happened in the 3rd set. Zverev kept it simple and did not force himself too much trying to play just enough to win. It worked as he secured the 3rd set as well albeit after a bit of struggle. Albot played very hard forcing break points but Zverev was able to serve all of them.
In the final game of the match, Zverev had a 40-15 lead and two match points but complicated things a little bit. He was able to close it out a couple of points later with some timely great serving.
