Mmoh was on the ropes against Lokoli in round one but the American rallied and now he's beaten Alexander Zverev in round two as well 6-7(1) 6-4 6-3 6-2.
This result is quite surprising on its own but not really. Zverev struggled a lot in his previous round and this round just saw him struggle again. The opponent was quite good and used his chance to score a huge win. The first set went to Zverev after a tiebreak that wasn't really close. Zverev took it 7-1 but he could have won it easier as he was up a break earlier in the set.
It was a good set by Zverev, quite aggressive with 25 winners overall. The second set saw Zverev continue that approach but he wasn't very precise. He had only 14 winners but 18 unforced errors which was not good enough. His serve also didn't give him many free points at all which was a problem.
The match continued in a similar rhythm and not much changed. Zverev still didn't serve as well as he had hoped and Mmoh was standing back not giving an inch. He also misfired in both sets from the baseline posting more unforced errors than winners. It was simply not good of an effort for this level.
