Alexander Zverev put forward another great display in Tokyo reaching the Olympic Games R3 over Galan 6-2 6-2.
Alexander Zverev has put his Wimbledon woes behind him and is marching towards a medal in Tokyo. The German played another great match beating Galan Riveros from Colombia in straight sets. It was a clear clash of styles with Zverev playing a very baseline heavy play attacking Galan from both sides of the court.
The Colombian tried to counter it with a signature clay-court playstyle but that did not yield any results and very quickly Zverev found himself up with two breaks. He finished off the first set with 6-2.
A similar scenario unfolded in the 2nd set where Zverev once again attacked Galan on both sides of the court and it worked. The Colombian had no proper counters to that game and Zverev went on a 4-0 run to close out the 2nd set with 6-2.
Two greats sets of tennis for Zverev who moves on to R3 over Galan. Zverev hit 85 % of his first serves winning over 80 % of those. He did not face a break point the entire match.
