After stepping onto the grass courts of Halle recently, Roger Federer did the same at Wimbledon filming something with Kate Middleton on the iconic courts.
Federer has been out of the sport since last year when he retired at the 2022 Laver Cup in London. He hasn't been very active around tennis since then but he was quite busy with some engagements in the US and Africa as well. He made a return to the tennis courts this week in Halle where he was honoured for among other things and a few days later he showed up in London on some more tennis courts.
It was at Wimbledon where he teamed up with Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales for a short film about ball boys. They didn't just film something, they also had a hit which was a great chance for fans to see Federer in all-white on the grassy green.

Ball Boy

Federer was the perfect candidate to film something about the ball boys and girls at the event due to his own experience with that. He was a ball boy back home at his home event in Basel and shared his thoughts on it. It's rather well known that Wimbledon has pretty high standards for its ball girls and boys as they get trained before the event so everything runs smoothly.
Federer was impressed with it addmiting during filming:
"This is proper practice. I’m really impressed at how much effort and training goes into being a ball kid during the championships. I used to be a ball kid in Basel when I was nine or 10 and, as I have always said, once a ball kid always a ball kid."
The princess added:
"Wimbledon is renowned for its amazingly professional ball boys and ball girls, the amount of work it takes, it’s incredible to see it behind the scenes… With all the discipline and everything you’ve learnt, you’ll be able to take it into so many other parts of your life – things like confidence, and that feeling of pride with being on any of the courts is such a big moment."
