Andy Murray and
Liam Broady have had a hilarious exchange as the latter said that his fellow Brit has had his bum wiped as they once again exchanged barbs on social media.
They are well known for exchanging social media messages and Murray didn't miss his chance when Broady complained about the breakfast at the Atlanta Open when he was playing early in the morning against Juncheng Shang.
Murray who recently announced that he would call time on his career was put in his place by Broady who has never gone beyond the third round of a Grand Slam. Previously Broady impressed at Wimbledon defeating Casper Ruud in the second round before losing to Denis Shapovalov and also reached the third round at Wimbledon back in 2022.
But he could miss out on a place in the US Open having never qualified for the tournament previously in the calendar year and has been toiling on the Challenger Tours. Now he will have more time to have banter with Murray given that the latter has now retired from the sport and will play doubles in the Olympic Games over the next week only.
“First match at 10am today so have to warm up at 8:30. Breakfast doesn’t open till 9am? Walked into player area and we’ve got… bagels. Really good for a high standard of tennis and tennis tournament in Atlanta," said Broady on X.
Murray responded saying: “Hope you are okay mate. That sounds terrible. Surprised you hadn’t checked the breakfast situation ahead of time like most professionals would have done.”
But the former World No.1 received the wrath of Broady who joked: “You have five people just to wipe your bum for you man. You’ve never checked a situation ahead of time in your life, we are not the same.” Only to get a fishing rod from Murray showing that he was fishing for the bait.
