Andy Murray will play at the
Sydney Tennis Classic after being awarded a wild card entry into the event for which he is grateful.
Murray arrived down under with great enthusiasm hoping to play well during the Australian Summer Tour. Murray has always enjoyed playing in Australia and this will be the first time he will play here in a while. He will also make his debut on the courts in Sydney as he never played in the city before. Murray arrived early in the city watching Great Britain take on and defeat the United States of America in the ATP Cup.
On getting the wild card Murray said:
“I’m looking forward to playing in Sydney for the first time and continuing my preparation for the Australian Open. I’ve heard great things about Sydney. It’s a pretty cool city.”
Murray will join players like Roberto Bautista, Agut, Taylor Fritz, and compatriot Dan Evans in the main draw of the event. All of them played in the ATP Cup as well.
