Andy Murray made a winning start at the Sydney Tennis Classic event defeating Viktor Durasovic in straight sets.
It was a very good start for Andy Murray who is playing in Syndey for the first time in his career. His opponent was Viktor Durasovic from Norway, a player he defeated recently in Stockholm and this time around Murray was even better prepared. Durasovic is capable of staying in matches mostly due to his serving but Murray was ready.
He returned really well and that make things complicated for Durasovic. The Norwegian was having issues staying in rallies and every time Murray upped the aggressiveness, Durasovic was not able to stay in the point. He tried to overcompensate but it did not work. He won the first set with 6-3 and after that, he started playing even better.
Durrasovic tried his best but he was simply overmatched by Murray who was feeling himself. The best match Murray played by far in the recent weeks and he cruised to a 6-1 2nd set finish to move on. A great start for Murray who is looking to get some matches in ahead of the Australian Open.
