Two bits of positive @andy_murray news. His first event back after his ankle injury will now be a Challenger in Bordeaux next week. He'll also play doubles with Dan Evans at @rolandgarros
Britain’s tennis star Andy Murray is set to play in the double event of the French Open. The 36-year-old has struggled with fitness concerns throughout his career and it was because of this reason, he announced retirement after the Australian Open in 2018.
Murray made a miraculous comeback after some time off the court and is still playing at the highest level. The three-time Grand Slam winner has been out of action because of an ankle injury since March but there is some good news for his fans. As per tennis journalist Simon Cambers, Murray is not only set to return to the court but he will also play in the doubles category at the French Open with Dan Evans.
The mega-event will take place from May 26th to June 09 in the capital city of France where players from all over the world will participate in different categories to secure the ultimate prize. Murray, before taking part in the double event at the Roland Garros, will play in the Challengers event in Bordeaux next week. The Glasgow-born does not have a great record while playing at the French Open in the recent past. He has only managed to play once in the main round of the mega-event since 2017 where he was knocked out after losing in the first round to Stan Wawrinka with a score of 6-1, 6-3, 6-2.
