Andy Murray was set to play Novak Djokovic for the first time in many years however illness will prevent him from doing so.
Both Murray and Djokovic spoke fondly about the prospect of facing each other in Madrid, a place where they played before. However, despite things working out that way and despite the fans being eager to see it, the match won't happen. An hour before it was due to start, the Madrid event announced on social media that Murray won't play the match due to an illness.
They did not disclose what type of illness but Djokovic moves on to the quarterfinals with a walk over. More to follow.
