(VIDEO) The toll of battle: Peyton Stearns throws up behind umpires chair during marathon Osaka win

Peyton Stearns has reached the Quarter-Finals of the Rome Open seeing off Naomi Osaka in an epic three set battle but it certainly took its toll for the American.

Stearns will face Elina Svitolina tomorrow but shared herself videos online of her puking behind the umpires chair after sealing the win.

The American noted for her sense of humour posted the videos to her Instagram and X account with the dog emoji and a brick. Known throughout her runs in tournaments to say she has the dawg in her, Stearns certainly has shown out this week.

She has seen off Nuria Brancaccio, Anna Kalinskaya, Madison Keys and now Osaka. The latter was a win that she had to fight back in to seal it. It went to a match tie-break after it looked very likely that Osaka would find a way through.

Svitolina breezed past Collins earlier today and in a wide open bottom section is perhaps best placed for a run to the final out of those remaining. She recently won Rouen and is on a superb streak of wins.
