The third day of action at the
Antalya Open in Turkey gives four second-round encounters, with
Fabio Fognini,
Matteo Berrettini and
Jan-Lennard Struff as the players to watch.
Making a fresh start after two ankle surgeries and a slow end of 2020, Fognini plays against Jeremy Chardy in their first meeting since 2018, beating the Frenchman four times in five encounters so far. Fabio didn't play that well in the opening round, but the most important thing for him is to test his game and play injury-free, which was the case in that first match.
After Fabio, another highly-ranked Italian Matteo Berrettini steps on the court against a qualifier Dimitar Kuzmanov, standing as the favorite to reach the quarters. Matteo played on a high level in the opening match, hoping for more of the same against another lower-ranked opponent. On Court 1, world no 271.
Tristan Lamasine will try to stun Alexander Bublik and move into the last eight after earning his third victory at ATP tournaments in the opening round. Hugo Grenier, another Frenchman ranked 250th, is making his ATP debut in Antalya, scoring the maiden victory and hoping for more of the same against the 5th seed Jan-Lennard Struff.
