Aslan Karatsev has been confirmed for the ATP event in Lyon later this year with the Russian set to be the number one seed as of now.
The defending champion of this event is Stefanos Tsitsipa who won the clay event last year but it's unknown whether the Greek player will enter the event this year. So far the highest-seeded player is Aslan Karatsev who was recently confirmed for the event. Karatsev, ranked at No. 22 in the world, is set to make his second appearance on the clay courts of Lyon.
Karatsev, 28, made his Lyon debut last year but didn't impress. However, it should be noted that Karatsev didn't have much luck with the draw either, as he faced Jannik Sinner in the first round. Karatsev put up a great battle against Sinner but the Italian escaped with a 0-6 6-3 6-4 win.
The Lyon event takes place the week before the French Open which makes it hard to attract players as the majority of them will be getting ready in Paris for the Grand Slam.
